Roadrunners Radio Control Auto Racing Club

Thanks for visiting our Roadrunners RC web site!!!!

Established in 1974, the Roadrunner's R/C Club has been bringing R/C racing to Camarillo community for years.  Our facility is an R/C (radio-controlled) landmark, and has hosted many National and State sanctioned events for NORCCA (National Organization for Racing Radio- Controlled Autos) and ROAR (Remotely Operated Auto Racers).  Most of the world's fastest racers in the R/C industry have raced here.  From Onroad, Offroad, Dirt Oval, and Paved Oval the Roadrunner's R/C Club members dedicate their time and efforts to providing a great place to race.  This is a public facility during the week, however the Roadrunner's R/C Club moderates and maintains the facility under our discretion and agreement with the parks and recreation.  We encourage and welcome all to coming out and have some fun!!

We are located at: 520 Freedom Park A Camarillo, Ca. 93010

Just off the 101 Fwy, Exit Las Posas Road and head towards Camarillo Airport to Pleasant Valley Road.  Make a right at Pleasant Valley Road and pass two traffic signals.  As soon as you pass the second traffic signal and you will see softball fields.  At Freedom Park Road take a right, and you can't miss us!!

This Sunday 11/23/08 will be On-road!!  If you didn't make it to BFTR II "The Turkey Strikes Back" you missed out on a mind blowin' race LOL!!  It was really fun watching the tight battles on the track!!  From the Novice class, competitive Sportsman and Expert Stock classes, authentic Vintage class, prestige F1 class, bronco-style Slash class, minicooper's, 1/10 and 1/12 Scale Pan cars!!  Whew!!!!  Oh yeah, let's not forget the ludacris speeds of the Open Mod class!!  The BFTR II was a another success, and we thank our sponsors and club members who helped make this event possible.

On Friday 11/14/08 Marty's Hobbies Off-road Night Race was fun!! It was unusually warm night, which made it nice be out there.  We thank Marty's Hobbies for sponsoring this race.  The new track layout was sick!!  Thank you to all who participated in the track change.  1/10 trucks are on the rise as we see more of them coming out.  Associated SC8 class debut was insane, this is another growing class for you Nitro heads!!

Our last club meeting was productive one, and great improvements are happening to the facility. We will need help with removing and replacing the boards on the On-road track.  Also re-painting the On-road track with the new track layout.  Comittees are need to be formed to help execute these tasks.  Please PM me, or Steve if can be of help.  Dates will be posted here when we have made the arrangements with the Asphalt contractor.  This is just the beginning of the renovations for the facility!!  There are plans for the Off-road and Dirt Oval renovations as well. Looking to get some clean dirt/clay, so please start looking!!  We will need your help to make these renovations happen.  Don't get left behind!!  Please help to make it happen!!  Driver's ready!!  On the tone....

The club would like to acknowledge and thank Josh Barry and Vince Kolbe for their donations toward the club's future facility improvements.

We are coming to the end of this year soon.  Elections for the 2009 Roadrunner Club Officers will be held Monday 12/8/08 at 7:30p.m. at Round Table Pizza.  Please come nominate and vote for your 2009 Roadrunner Club Officers!!

2009 Club Memberships will be accepted on this Sunday 11/23/08.  Attention all new members!! Sign-up now and this will get you set up now through December 31, 2009 of next year!!  The membership fee is still $35.00 for the first member, and $5.00 each additional family member.  Current club members may also renew, so get an early start for next year!!

Your support as club members is needed more now than ever.  To preserve what makes this club and it's facility successful is you.  Your participation is necessary to reach the goals set for the upcoming staff in 2009.  It's time for everyone to step up and contribute, not just receive a lower entry fee.  If you want change, you need to show you want change, not just talk about it.  Those of you who have diligently contributed throughout this year, I thank you and please continue being the example.  Let's help make 2009 another great year of racing!!!!

Remember a club is only strong as it's members....

Thanks for your continued support...

Jarrod K
