Friday Night Racing is the shizz nit and should continue. The FNN event will happen near the end of the year. I need to get my but into gear and get some people rolling on some things and get donations for prizes. Anyone want to sponsor our Friday Night Nitro Race this fall/winter? Let me know. James

I'd like to see weekly night racing on both on and off road. Paved or concreted pit areas would be nice. Race series are a good motivator for people to get out and race, too. And lastly, I've said this before, and it doesn't apply to the actual tracks. IMO there should be a section on this website that clearly spells out class rules for all classes raced at Camarillo. I think this would be very beneficial for someone thinking of coming out to race at our track, and for all members in general. I know I've spent money on things only to find out that the info I have gotten about a particular class is incorrect, and my money is wasted. A printed or posted set of rules would be very helpful.

I agree with this wholeheartedly.  In fact if you guys need to delegate the task of gathering and compiling all that info to someone I'd be happy to volunteer.

You know what i noticed on sunday... we weren't allowed to mess with our trucks/cars between heats, WTF. I was running 2 classes and couldn't tune my engine cuz of tyler telling everyone to shut the engines down. SO i would like to allow tunning between heats.

I mostly tune motors during practice before the race heat there is usually time to do that.Get the motor   up to temp then tune it .  I think there is about 3-4 minutes of practice on the track before your heat.Cool

Umm there is a reason for this rule... when people tune during a race and u have the same freq as someone during a race it can cause a big problem loke what happened to Notch... plus its common curtesy to not run your car in the parking lot and kick up dust everywhere.... if you were at a big race you would be DQ'd for this which means ur day would be done.. i know Tyler was stiff on this and its because i was on him and telling him to yell at people so its not all on Tyler. Your pit man or YOU should tune during the warmup...

and no one wants to listen to someone rapping his motor all day--I race gas too and you sholdnt have to "TUNE" the dam thing all day long--

as for rules join ROAR and get a rule book---it is all there from on road to off and from 1/12 scale to 1/5 scale

I am all for splitting gas and electric races--the track is better for both when run seperately---------

mains should be the same for both as well 10 minutes-- why should gas get to run longer--we all PAY the same entry fee and even with brushed motors and nimh 10 minutes is easy to do.

as for improvements the boards are getting pretty beat , we could all pitch in and throw a coat of paint on them one afternoon----

cement around the track for pitting would be nice, although I find pitting AWAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY from the track a little is very peaceful----

some more trees--- spend a few dollars and get some sod for the division areas of the trac---really makes it look nice and only costs a few $ and helps keep it moist when watering-----------

get rid of those blocks before someone gets hurt

double up the pipe so it cant be jumpes as easy

    SPRINKLERS

    SPLINKERS

    SPLINKERS

    did I say SPLINKERS

better PA SYSTEM you cant hear when electric runs let alone gas---how about a flag man at the start line for the drivers to watch?? they sure cant hear

    pick up the trash

some more lights----its been talked about for the last 4 years----

    more races---

how about a combined points race--FRIDAY night SAT and SUN  --DIRT OVAL, on road, and off road, oval and off road must be the same car .

    or

a hour long electric race, 15 minute qualifiers to get 10 for the main, truck or buggy, 2 wheel or four allr run together .

i also did give you a half hour lunch to tune, fix cars, and eat. at some tracks, if you have any car in the the pits on(electric or nitro), they will kick you out or DQ you if it is a big race, with no refund. as also, there can be conflicts in frequencies, as most of the monster truck class and the novice class was not on SPK radio bands. you also had about 3 to 4 mins before the start of your race. that is the time to tune cars. you or your pit man needs to tune the car in the time before the race starts. it is also done so people can here me talk in the pits. as of now, the speakers on the light polls do not work, and we are working on geting some better speakers. sorry for the inconvenience. if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I was not aware that we were running the exact rules for each class as spelled out in a ROAR handbook. If so I will definitley join and get a rule book. I have been told on more than one occassion that we do not actully follow the letter of law in all classes as described by ROAR. I have been missinformed. Giti, you have PM. Thanks for the info.

BS, we're not runnig ROAR rules at all.  Just look back at the touring car motor thread from just a month or two ago for example.  If you were to read your trusty ROAR handbook and come race novice, sportsman, or expert stock (basically ALL of our touring car classes) you'd probably have invested in a 17.5BL motor setup and you'd get crushed by everyone else running 13.5 because that's how we roll at CAM.

What about mini cooper?  At the start of mini cooper it was stated that we were going to run TCS rules and that hasn't been anywhere close to the case in reality.  I'm not complaining, as I feel the TCS rules are overly restrictive (and expensive) for guys just trying to have fun at a club level, but if someone read that on here they'd be in for a surprise at the track.

I may be wrong, but I don't think the 1/10 pan car guys are running ROAR rules either, but rather a configuration they all like and have agreed on.

If our Vintage Spec class takes hold, it varies significantly from the national USVTA rules.

Giti, where are the ROAR rules for the open-wheel class you're always trying to get going?  How about for the new attempt at a spec silver can open wheel class?

There are probably even more examples, but that covers almost all of the on-road side.  For all I know the 12th pan car guys may be doing their own thing as well and then that would be a clean sweep.

The classes we actually run need to be documented and posted here.  If a class is indeed true to the ROAR spec then that can be stated.

Here is the link for ROAR's Rules Books in PDF file.

Could everyone come to the club meeting on September 15?
Please! Come to the Club meeting to Speak Up.
That why the Club has a meeting EVERY MONTH on the SECOND MONDAY.
I think Jarrod, Steve and the Race Directors will give the answers for the Club Rules.

The Mini Cooper Spec. Class is supposed to be:
    _Stock.
_Mabuchi or Johnson "Silver Can" motors ONLY.
    _3200 Lipo Battery ONLY allowed.

The Open Wheel F1 Spec. Class is ran with:
_Mabuchi or Johnson "Silver Can" motors ONLY.
    _Lipo batteries are allowed.

    Everyone AGREED.
    Why change it for?
This is a fun Class and it keeps the budget INEXPENSIVE.

It's about having FUN, RELAXING and Meeting FRIENDS!

How come anytime anyone simply inquires what the rules are and asks for clarification they get accused of not just wanting to have fun, relax, etc.???? Fine. I'm ordering a mod BL motor for my TC that I'm going to run with an 11.1V lipo and when someone complains I'm going to ridicule them for not just having fun and relaxing.
